There are many camping areas in and around the Grand Canyon South Rim. Camping is permitted only in designated campsites in the Grand Canyon National Park.
Mather Campground
The Mather Campground is a National Park Service Campground. There is a dump station available at Mather; however there are no RV Hookups. The maximum vehicle length is 30 feet and many of the sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. The fee to stay at the Mather Campground is currently $18. You may find advance reservations at the website : www.recreation.gov
Trailer Village Campground
If you are visiting the Grand Canyon South Rim in a motor home then the Trailer Village Campground can accommodate you. The Village has pull through sites with hookups and it is located next to the Mather Campground. Currently the price is $34 a night for two people and an extra $3 a night per extra person over the age of 16.
The Desert View Campground
The Desert View Campground is located near the east entrance approximately twenty five miles east of the Grand Canyon Village. This campground is self-service with no reservations available.
The Camper Village Campground
The Camper Village Campground is a privately owned commercial campground that is located in Tusayan. This is approximately 1 ½ miles south of the park entrance. The Camper Village Campground has all the amenities that you would expect such as Hookups, Laundry, Dump Station, Showers, Propane and a campground store that is open year round. The Ten-X Campground
The Ten-X Campground is located 2 miles south of Tusayan and currently costs $10 per vehicle per night. The Ten-X campground opens on May 1st weather permitting and is operated by the Kaibab National Forest. There are no hookups or showers at the campground and group sites are available by reservation at 928-638-2443.
